''Comparisons of famous products, the pride of Tokyo'' Attractive design from a rarely seen Kunichika series published from 1896 to 1897 depicting famous places, people, and products in Tokyo. Each print features a portrait of a beauty surrounded by a bamboo frame, with a scene above of a noted shop or restaurant, often with its famous product shown, and a kimono textile pattern at lower left. The title cartouche at upper right is surrounded by a folding fan and a colorful blossom. Beautifully printed with fine line work and soft shading, most images include deluxe treatments such as burnishing or embossing. An interesting series.
